    A Healthier Homemade Pizza

    Pizza is not typically thought of as a healthy food. However, you could diverge from your traditional white crusted pie. Here is a simple recipe for making a tasty and healthier pizza.

    Ingredients:

    -a whole wheat/grain pizza crust
    -shredded mozzarella cheese (1/2 fat or part skim)
    -extra virgin olive oil
    -yellow bell pepper
    -zucchini
    -onion
    -pepperoni (turkey has less fat)
    -pizza sauce

    Directions:

    -preheat your oven according to the directions on the pizza crust package (usually 450)
    -put the crust on a round pizza pan, or directly on the oven rack (if you like it extra crispy)
    -rub the crust with a small amount of extra virgin olive oil
    -spread the sauce on with a spoon
    -sprinkle on the cheese
    -chop the veggies into very fine pieces and add to the top
    -serve and enjoy!
